ATP ranking: Moutet always higher

Semi-finalist in Washington a month after losing in the final in Mallorca, Corentin Moutet occupies this Monday 46th place in the new ranking. A great first for the Parisian, who had never been part of the top 50. Arthur Cazaux (75th) leaps into the hierarchy too.

At 26, Corentin Moutet plays the best tennis of his life. And he harvested the fruits in the standings. His new semi-final, this weekend in Washington, where he had been drafted after his defeat in the second round of qualifying by taking advantage of the Holger Rune package, allows the Parisian to make a new leap in the world hierarchy.

Moutet, which occupied the 59th row before putting his suitcases in the American capital, where he allowed himself to ridicule his compatriot Alexander Muller before offering himself Daniil Medvedev and stop on Alex de Minaur (back in 8th row) at the gates of the final, climbed thirteen places. He thus finds himself 46th this Monday and at the same time joined the top 50 for the first time in his career. Just award for the one who had already shone last month in Mallorca, this time housing until the final. Arthur Cazaux is the other French in the form of the moment.

Cazaux also climbs

A week after being a part of the last square on the circuit for the first time in Gstaad, the young Montpellier played the first final of his life in Kitzbühel on Saturday in an ATP tournament. Once again beaten by Alexander Bublik (Editor’s note: Kazakh, titled twice in two weeks and now 25th, had already stopped him in Switzerland), Cazaux, just back in the Top 100, goes this Monday from the 100th to 75th place. At the dawn of his comeback, this week in Toronto, Arthur fils, still number 1 French in front of Ugo Humbert (23rd), retains 21st place.
