The Jean d’Arcy purse was awarded, on Friday, June 20, to two students: Aurore Plirers, from the University Center for Journalism Teaching (Cuej) in Strasbourg, as an editor, and Margaux Malé, of the Toulouse journalism school (EJT), as journalist reporter of images (JRI). The two winners were given their prize by the information director of France Télévisions, Alexandre Kara.
The Arcy Stock Exchange was created in 1984 by Hervé Bourges in tribute to Jean d’Arcy, which was one of the great pioneers of television. It is the first prize for television journalism which, instead of rewarding its winner with money, the reward with a contract within a company. First at TF1, when it was a public channel, then in Antenne 2, from 1989, after the privatization of TF1.
The Jean d’Arcy purse has since been “the” French journalism competition of France Télévisions, its “royal” path. It has evolved over the years and the transformations of the company. It was first a prize for editors, then, from 1997, a prize for the JRI. Only schools recognized by the National Press Card Commission (14 schools currently) can present a candidate per category (editor or JRI). The tests, which take place in two laps, have also evolved over the years, but it is always from a report that the finalists are decreed.
The journalist reporter of Margaux Malé images is from Narbonne. She earns a ten -month fixed -term contract in the JRI of national writing service. The editor Aurore Plirer comes from eastern France. She also earns ten months of fixed -term contract, first two months in the Economy Service of national writing, then eight months in the investigatives and reports.
