Bill Bazzi sworn in as new US Ambassador to Tunisia

The United States Embassy in Tunis announced this morning, Monday November 3, 2025, that Bill Bazzi, appointed new American ambassador to Tunisia, was sworn in last week before taking office.

Bill Bazzi will therefore succeed Ambassador Joey R. Hood, whose mission in Tunisia ended in October.

In March, Donald Trump appointed Bill Bazzi to the post of United States ambassador to Tunisia. Born in Lebanon, Bill Bazzi emigrated to the United States at the age of ten. He grew up in Dearborn, a Michigan city where the Arab-American community is one of the largest in the country.
