For several days, thousands of French people have called for boycott consumption products “made in USA” such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Starbucks or the Tesla car manufacturer.
A farmer in the north of France has created a group on Facebook to boycott American products. An initiative that has already brought together more than 4,000 people. In a recent survey of Release62 % of French people support the boycott of American products, a way of asserting its disagreement with Donald Trump’s policy. Among the most threatened brands are Ford, Starbucks or Tesla at the top of the ranking. Indeed, 47 % of French people say they are ready to turn their backs on Elon Musk’s business.
In consumers, boycott is not unanimous. “The political and symbolic value is interesting”says a passerby. “This is the first thing we think of, but I’m not sure of the result”add another. Disaminour towards Tesla seems, however, being felt already since sales of vehicles at European level have tumbled by 45 % in one year.
