Just out of the previous government, Bruno Retailleau scolds Sébastien Lecornu. The head of the Republicans accused, Tuesday October 14, the Prime Minister’s new government of being “hostage of the socialists” for making the decision “incomprehensible” to suspend the pension reform and for its “silence on immigration”. “The cartel of demagogues who have always fought pension reform, made up of the left and the National Rally, is taking the government in a direction that is leading us straight into the wall of the financial crisis”deplores the former Minister of the Interior in a press release.
During his general policy declaration, Sébastien Lecornu announced the suspension of the pension reform, symbol of the Macron presidency, obtaining at least temporary clemency from the socialists, which made it a sine qua non condition to spare the government from censorship. The leader of the PS deputies welcomed “a victory” and a “first step which allows us to consider the following ones”. “We will be vigilant to ensure that your words are translated into action”promised Boris Vallaud.
The motions of censure tabled by the RN and by La France insoumise will be examined Thursday morning in the National Assembly. The former president of the Republicans Eric Ciotti, aligned with Marine Le Pen, proposed to Bruno Retailleau “a meeting to lay the foundations for a reversal of alliance on the right with the RN”. “Hostages of the Socialist Party, LR deputies sign a pact with the devil”writes Eric Cooks onusing the same terms as Bruno Retailleau. The boss of LR finds himself at odds with the deputies of his party, led by Laurent Wauquiez, who have chosen not to censor the government.
