For 2026, the government plans to eliminate the Christmas bonus for beneficiaries with this profile, i.e. around 150 euros. Part of the left and associations helping the most precarious are strongly opposed to this idea.

“The generosity we have known for decades may have come to an end.” Questioned on France Inter on Tuesday, November 4, the Minister of Labor and Solidarity affirmed that the government wishes to eliminate the Christmas bonus for recipients who do not have children, as part of discussions on the Social Security budget for 2026. It is notably allocated to those who receive the RSA. Paid by the family allowance fund (CAF), this bonus represents around 150 euros for a single person and 228 euros for a couple without children.
Since then, part of the left and associations helping the most precarious have taken offense at the measure. “Often, it supplements a bank overdraft, it helps pay an energy bill which is increasingly important today”explained on franceinfo Nicolas Champion, national secretary in charge of Solidarity at Secours populaire.
