The commercial showdown hired by the American administration with the rest of the world does not only go through the new customs duties announced this week by Donald Trump. A letter recently sent by the American Embassy to certain French companies asks them to abandon their anti-discrimination programs, failing which they could no longer work with the United States.

Donald Trump’s commercial policy sets fire to the powder of an already heckled global economy. Is the risk real? Will the fall harder for the United States? Is protectionism a response?
