FULL. The Renault automotive construction group, which also includes Dacia and Alpine, announces an increase in its world sales in the 1st half, even stronger in Europe. Results that contrast with those of the Stellantis automotive group-the giant from the merger between French PSA, Peugeot-Citroën, and Fiat-Chrysler.
The R5 turns out to be a real commercial success for the diamond brand – by far its flagship model in 100% electric. Already 49,000 sales on the counter since its launch, and 1st place in France, but also in Europe in its category.
This success notably contributed to the decision taken a few days ago to create an additional half -production team – acting – from this fall on the Douai site, in the north of France, where the R5 is manufactured. In the factory, more than 500 people are expected in reinforcement.
In addition to the R5, Renault can also rely on the always solid performance of the Clio and the Dacia Sandero: once again n ° 1 and n ° 2 of sales in Europe in the 1st semester. Essentially in petrol version, and hybrid for the Clio.
Only shadow on the board: a 29% drop in sales on the European market for utility vehicles, vans and vans, suffering from a large slowdown.
