CCK and Huawei highlight digital innovation and intelligent transformation in education and scientific research in Tunisia


On December 15, 2025, Tunis successfully hosted the CCK-Huawei Cloud Tunisia Summit on Cloud Education, under the theme “Accelerating intelligent transformation in education”. Organized as part of the second phase of the CCK-Huawei Cloud platform, this event brought together more than 400 customers; partners in the education and health sectors in Tunisia and North Africa. It has established itself as a privileged showcase of the latest technological advances, while consolidating synergies between the academic world and industry.

The event was marked by the presence of leading personalities, including Mr. Mondher Belaïd, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; HE Wan Li, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tunisia; Professor Basri Saleh Salmoodi, Palestinian Deputy Minister of Education; Dr Fayçal Baklouti, advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Professor Saoussen Krichen, general director of the El-Khawarizmi Computing Center (CCK); Mr. Felix Feng, President of Huawei Cloud North Africa; Mr. Jason Xue, General Manager of Huawei Tunisia and Libya; as well as representatives of the Tunisian ministries of Interior, Defense, Health, Communication Technologies, Education, and the former Minister of Finance.

The summit provided an exceptional setting to highlight advances in cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The CCK, the national digital hub attached to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Tunisia, is collaborating with Huawei Cloud to deploy the ministry’s Education Cloud. This infrastructure supports critical applications such as digital libraries, student registration systems, smart classrooms, scientific research, distance learning, and AI medical image screening.

For his part, Mr. Mondher Belaïd, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, welcomed this initiative, affirming that it constituted “a crucial opportunity to share expertise and discover innovations to modernize our systems”. He reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to “support the digital transformation of universities and institutes, and to establish strategic partnerships with technological leaders. Our objective is to create an ecosystem favorable to innovation and the emergence of high-level national skills, drivers of Tunisian sustainable development.” On this occasion, Mr. Belaïd praised the effort of Huawei teams to invest in Tunisia’s technological development.

HE Mr. Wan Li, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Tunisia, underlined the bilateral importance of this event. He said: “This summit consolidates the strategic partnership between China and Tunisia in the key sectors of technology and education. My country is ready to share its experience and know-how to deploy cloud and artificial intelligence solutions for the benefit of scientific research and educational excellence, in order to serve the common interests of our university and academic ecosystems. »

Highlighting the dynamic of cooperation, Ms. Saoussen Krichen said: “Our alliance with Huawei is a decisive accelerator of the digital transition of our universities and research centers. This partnership gives us the means to build the educational and scientific environment of tomorrow, a space that cultivates digital talents and guarantees equitable and modern access to knowledge. »

Mr. Felix Feng, President of Huawei Cloud North Africa, shared the real-world experience of Huawei Cloud in the education and government sectors globally. He introduced in detail Huawei’s technological strengths in cloud infrastructure, AI, data governance and ecosystem co-construction, reaffirming the company’s commitment to deepening strategic cooperation with the CCK to jointly build a national benchmark educational cloud platform that is secure, reliable and sustainable. “Huawei Cloud is honored to participate in this strategic exchange platform,” he said. “We work hand in hand with our Tunisian partners for student success and societal progress. »

For his part, Mr. Jason Xue, General Manager of Huawei Tunisia and Libya, recalled Huawei’s long collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to train students in ICT. He highlighted Tunisia’s strengths in computing resources, AI talent and modeling capabilities, while highlighting the key role of the cloud in accelerating the digital transformation of the sector. “We have been collaborating for many years with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and hope, with the CCK, to strengthen our skills to facilitate the digital transformation of the country. »

The various sessions of the summit highlighted the urgent need to build an integrated digital ecosystem in order to optimize the efficiency of educational institutions and stimulate educational innovation.

Among the highlights, representatives of CCK and Huawei jointly inaugurated the online platform, marking a new stage in the cloud infrastructure for Tunisian education and research. Six high-level technical exchanges were also organized on security, health, AI and cloud applications, promoting customer relationships and new opportunities.

The panels of the CCK-Huawei Cloud Education Summit Tunisia 2025 offered three highlights of reflection and exchange, perfectly aligned with the national priorities of digital transformation in education and health. Panel 1, dedicated to “International Trends for the Transformation of Education through the Cloud”, brought together experts and academic leaders from Tunisia, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Mauritania, who shared global best practices and new educational models made possible by the cloud. Panel 2, entitled “Health training via the MESRS cloud”, highlighted the concrete contributions of the cloud in the modernization of medical and paramedical training in Tunisia, thanks to the interventions of professors, clinicians and decision-makers in the health sector. Finally, Panel 3, “MESRS and Huawei – Building an AI-native Huawei Cloud to Amplify Intelligence,” brought together key institutional and technology stakeholders to explore how an AI-native cloud infrastructure strengthens intelligence, innovation and quality of services within the higher education and research ecosystem.

In closing, the participants reaffirmed their desire to strengthen collaboration to consolidate the digital economy, support young talents and position Tunisia as a regional hub in AI and cloud computing. This summit lays the foundations for a smart and sustainable education ecosystem.

In this context of global digital change, Huawei has confirmed its long-term strategy: intensifying its cooperation with African educational ecosystems in order toaccelerate skills development and to support the continent in its decisive entry into the era of intelligence.
