In 2011, after six seasons at the New Orleans Hornets, who had drafted him in 4th position, the leader had joined the Californian franchise, to form a spectacular duo with Blake Griffin.
But the Clippers have never managed to reach the conference final, even if Paul became the record holder of the franchise at that time (4023 assists).
A very experienced team at Clippers
Since his departure, Chris Paul has wore the Houston jersey, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Golden State and therefore San Antonio, but has still not managed to win a first title of champion, being content with a lost final with the Suns in 2021 against Milwaukee. And if the clippers finally managed to reach a conference final (precisely against Phoenix in 2021), they were not sacred either.
Next season, Steve Ballmer’s franchise will still be among the outsiders, with its very experienced workforce composed notably of Bradley Beal (32), James Harden (36 years next month), Kawhi Leonard (34), Brook Lopez (37) or Nicolas Batum (36).
