Particularly violent clashes pitted 300 farmers against the gendarmes in front of a farm in Doubs. Farmers were demonstrating against the decision to slaughter an entire herd of 80 cows in the name of the fight against dermatosis, this contagious bovine disease. The police used tear gas. And despite the protests, the cattle are going to be slaughtered.
