In France, the debate rises on how the government could mobilize more funds to finance the defense.

To finance a potential war effort, do you need a new pension reform? In a column published Wednesday, March 5, the president of the pension orientation council, Gilbert this, launched the idea: “The progressive entry into a war economy will make secondary, if not derisory, the current debates on the legal age to 64 years. The question will rather become ‘how to increase this age beyond 64 years?'”

A proposal that joins the arguments of the Medef, and makes the unions jump, starting with the CGT, which accuses Gilbert this of leaving his role: “There is always a good reason why it should be repelled the starting age. It is scandalous, not only to question consultation, but in addition to pleading so that there is still a new pension reform, under the pretext of war effort.”
