Educational reform, connected schools and reduced exams: Noureddine Nouri’s announcements in Nabeul

On a working visit to Nabeul, the Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri, presented, Monday November 3, 2025, a vast program to modernize the Tunisian school system, structured around three axes: the renovation of infrastructure, the digitalization of schools and educational reform.
The minister indicated, in a statement to Tap, that his department has already intervened in 30% of the country’s educational establishments through maintenance, rehabilitation and creation of new structures, specifying that thirteen new establishments were recently built. This program, rolled out over three years, aims to “ rebuild a modern educational landscape » and to ensure in schools, colleges and high schools “theconditions worthy of teachers, students, parents and all educational stakeholders ».

This visit to Nabeul is part of a process of monitoring and evaluating the work carried out in the field. It aims to note the state of establishments, the progress made, but also to identify difficulties in order to provide concrete solutions.
On the digital front, Noureddine Nouri announced that the majority of primary schools are now connected to high-speed Internet and the progressive equipment of establishments, both in cities and in rural areas.
The minister also insisted on the importance of the technology subject in primary education, specifying that the program has been revised to allow students to develop their manual and sensory skills within the school, without resorting to purchasing ready-made work in bookstores, which is often costly for families.

Regarding exams, Noureddine Nouri announced the expansion of the calendar and scope of oral exams at primary level, now spread over a full month. This measure aims to ease the pressure on students and parents during the evaluation period.
Finally, the minister recalled that the reform of the education system will be the responsibility of the Higher Education Council, the launch of which is imminent. This council will be responsible for examining all projects in a coordinated approach with the various departments concerned – Employment, Sport, Higher Education, Women, Religious Affairs and Culture – in order to link learning to citizen training, the job market and openness to the world, while consolidating the feeling of belonging and national pride.
