From substitute to favorite for, at least, an Olympic title. This is what Eric Perrot is currently experiencing. In 2022, the Frenchman discovered the Olympic Games, in Beijing, China, but only as a substitute, on the installations of the Zhangjiakou stadium. This season, the Habs are moving forward in the shoes of a favorite to win, at least, an Olympic gold medal in Italy.
At the beginning of February 2022, Perrot, who had just arrived at the highest level of international biathlon, spoke, during a press conference organized by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), about his objectives for the future. The biathlete then responded in particular, in comments reported by Nordic Magazine : “Going and playing up front in 2026 is my goal. » Since then, things have indeed changed.

Eric Perrot has even become one of the big names in world biathlon. Moreover, last season, the Frenchman, crowned world champion in the individual and mixed relay in March, was third in the world. This Sunday, during an interview given to Nordic MagazineEric Perrot reflected on the upcoming 2025-2026 season: “I am really where I want to be. It’s a source of pride and luck. I enjoy it! Beyond winning or not at the Olympic Games, I benefit because I have the chance to be exactly where I want to be, right in the middle of my dream. »
Before continuing: “I have accumulated experience with good results and I am in the French team. This allows me to train with all possible means to progress and, in addition, biathlon has become my profession. This is the life I dreamed of. I’m right on target. » The 2025-2026 Biathlon World Cup season will begin on November 29 in Östersund, Sweden.
