Dallas mourns Marshawn Kneeland. The Cowboys, five-time Super Bowl winners, experienced the terrible pain this Thursday of losing their young defensive end, who left in the morning at the age of 24. “It is with great sadness that the Dallas Cowboys announce the tragic passing of Marshawn Kneeland this morning. Marshawn was a teammate and a valued member of our organization.

All our thoughts and prayers are with his partner Catalina and his family,” announced in a press release the Texan franchise, which drafted Kneeland in the 2nd round of the lottery last year. The former resident of the University of Western Michigan stood out again last Monday against the Arizona Cardinals by scoring a touchdown – the first of his career – without however avoiding defeat for his team.

“Marshawn gave his all to every action”

If the exact reasons for the footballer’s death have not yet been revealed, according to the Frisco Police Department, also in Texas, the native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was found dead following a chase. Kneeland, who had suicidal tendencies, allegedly killed himself after escaping his pursuers at the entrance to the city. Initially, according to this same source relayed in particular by NFL Network, the Cowboys player was the victim of a road accident while driving his car, which he left to flee on foot, with the police on his heels.

“Marshawn gave his all to every action, to every training, to every moment on the field (…) Losing someone so talented, with such spirit and such goodness, is an indescribable pain,” reacted his agent Jonathan Perzley, of Sportstars Inc. The autopsy carried out by the medical examiner of Colin County, in North Texas, should make it possible to know “the exact cause and circumstances of death”, which are still very unclear to this day.
