The 24 hours of Le Mans continue to be tight, after no less than 14 hours of racing. This Sunday morning, at daybreak, the race was led by two Ferrari. N ° 51 led the debates at 7 a.m. in front of n ° 83. During the night, n ° 51 made a great fright.
Indeed, a little after 1 a.m., Antonio Giovinazzi found himself involved in a hanging with the Corvette n ° 33, at the time of his exit of the stands. The one caused him a puncture but also a penalty. This Ferrari was then forced to redo a ride at the stands. This had made him demotize in seventh place in the ranking, more than two minutes from the leader, in the 2 -hour classification.
At 3:12 am, a safety car appeared on the track. This is what allowed this Ferrari n ° 51 to return to the level of the leaders. In the 7 -hour classification, she was then even in the lead.
No French car in the top 10
His advance was, however, only a few seconds on the Ferrari n ° 83. In third position, we found the Toyota n ° 8, pointed at 43 seconds and which can still avoid a triplet of the 499p. In fourth position, we find, in fact, the Ferrari n ° 50. In the rest of the Top 10, we found the Porsche n ° 6, the Cadillac n ° 12, the BMW n ° 15, the Toyota n ° 7, the Cadillac n ° 38 and the Porsche n ° 5. The first French car, Alpine, was only 13th.
In the Hypercars category, only one abandonment intervened during the night. This is that of Cadillac n ° 101, which has undergone an engine breakage. For his part, the Italian Valentino Rossi, in the BMW n ° 46, also had to give up prematurely the continuation and end of this legendary race, due to a mechanical problem, in the GT3 category.
