The CNOSF revealed this Tuesday the candidates for the French team to be flag bearers during the Milan-Cortina Winter Games next February. There are seven for the Olympics and four for the Paralympics.
The 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina will begin on February 6. And one month to the day before the start of the event, which will last until February 22, the potential French flag bearers are known. The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF) jointly revealed the names of the different candidates this Tuesday morning.
There are eleven in total, distributed as follows: seven candidates for the role of standard bearer for the French Olympic team and four for the French Paralympic team, knowing that under the criteria defined by the CPSF, it is possible for two standard bearers to come from the same Paralympic discipline.
Snowboarding, figure skating and alpine skiing in the spotlight
For the Olympics, snowboarders Julia Nirani Pereira and Chloé Trespeuch, bronze medalist in Sochi and silver in Beijing, are candidates. Same thing among the men for the figure skaters Kevin Aymoz, Adam Siao Him Fa and Guillaume Cizeron, back in business alongside the Canadian Laurence Fournier-Beaudry and who will try to win a new Olympic coronation after that obtained in Beijing with Gabriella Papadakis.
Alpine skiing is also well represented with the candidacies of Victor Muffat-Jeandet, bronze medalist in the alpine combined in Pyeongchang, and slalom skier Clément Noël, only 4th in Pyeongchang but who climbed to the top step in Beijing.
Para-snowboarder Cécile Hernandez (standing category), who already has three Olympic cross-country medals – one in each of her three participations so far – including gold brought back from Beijing in 2022, as well as para-snowboarder Maxime Montaggioni (also standing category) and Lou Braz-Dagand and Jordan Broisin, both in alpine para sli, are also among the eleven candidates revealed this Tuesday by the CNOSF one month away of the launch of these 2026 Winter Games.
