France-Argentina, the legal consequences

A month and a half later, justice is called upon to decide in a case dating back to the final of the 2022 World Cup and the defeat of the Blues on penalties against Argentina. The unfortunate outcome of this meeting indeed had given rise to unacceptable slippages on social networks. And in particular racist attacks against several French players.

On December 21, 2022, the French Football Federation (FFF) and SOS Racisme had filed a complaint against X for these odious insults and other scandalous montages. Among which a tank photo of Lionel Messi flanked by an SS armband and holding at the end of a rope the tricolors Kylian Mbappé, Randal Kolo Muani, Kingsley Coman and Aurélien Tchouameni.

Two men and a woman on the accused bench

For various reasons, these four elements of the Didier Deschamps group had been particularly targeted: Mbappé for his aura, Kolo Muani for his last opportunity pushed by the Argentinian goalkeeper in the overtime, Coman and Tchouaméni for their missed shots.

L’Equipe reports this Monday that three people – two men and a woman – will appear on May 15 at the Paris Criminal Court for their involvement in these violent and racist signing campaigns. These individuals will have to answer for the following counts: ” public insult because of the origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion “And” public provocation to hatred or violence due to origin, ethnicity, nation, race or religion ».
