The Prime Minister closed the door, on Sunday, the possibility of a return to 62 years of the legal departure age. What make the French and political parties react.
No taboo or totem on the legal age of retirement. It was the promise of François Bayrou. But, Sunday, March 16, the Prime Minister returned to his commitments. A turnaround justified by the context of the war in Ukraine. “I do not believe that the parametric question is the only track,” he said. In other words, there will be no return to the legal retirement age at 62.
After 30 years in the public service, Patrice Martin became a delivery man in Lyon. He is 55 years old and seems fatalistic. “62 One day, 64 the next day and the next day it will be how much? 65, 67? We will always find a pretext to delay but it is just us the French who must pay,” he regrets. For others, everyone’s effort is necessary. “We live longer and longer. We must consider working longer,” said a passerby.
