Author of his second double-double of the season, Monday in Brooklyn, Rudy Gobert (15 points, 12 rebounds) allowed Minnesota to string together a second victory in a row. Despite a very good game on their part, Bilal Coulibaly (15 points, 7 rebounds) and especially Alexandre Sarr (19 points, 8 rebounds) were unable to prevent Washington’s new setback, on the floor of Guerschon Yabusele’s Knicks.
Rudy Gobert is launched, Minnesota too. After a timid start, the French pivot of Wolves seems to have found his cruising speed. Monday against the Nets on the floor of Brooklyn, the native of Saint-Quentin also produced his best copy since the start of the season, notably with a flawless shooting (6 out of 6) for 15 points scored during this meeting which he certainly left his mark.
“Gobzilla”, his team’s fifth highest scorer on Monday against teammates Cam Thomas (25 points) and Nolan Traoré (zero points, for an attempted shot), behind Donte DiVincenzo (25 points) and Jaden McDaniels (22 points) in particular, offered himself a new double-double, his third this season.
Great architect of this second success in a row for his team, Gobert added 12 rebounds to his 15 points of the evening, as well as an assist and a block. His compatriot and teammate Joan Beringer, who appeared for three minutes, had to settle for a rebound.
Sarr and Coulibaly were not enough
The French were also strongly represented, on the floor of New York during a match between the Knicks and Washington. The Wizards suffered a new setback (the 6th already since the restart) against the New Yorkers of Guerschon Yabusele, Pacôme Dadiet (1 rebound) and Mohamed Diawara (1 assist). This did not prevent Alexandre Sarr and Bilal Coulibaly from doing everything once again to avoid it.
The first, still very prominent, finished with 19 points (8 of 16 shots), 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Great performance also for Victor Wembanyama’s former partner in Boulogne-Levallois, author of 15 points on Monday (3 out of 5 from three points) and 7 rebounds. Yabusele, for his part, was finally entitled to a little more playing time, with 14 minutes spent during this meeting on the floor of Madison Square Garden.
The captain of the Blues used as a pivot by Tom Thibodeau since his arrival, however, was very discreet once again (only 1 point, 0 of 2 on shots, 3 rebounds). Like the Wolves and Gobert, New York has a second success.
