Pierre Ménès confides in his tensions on the air and returns to a clash with Habib Beye.
Throughout his long television career, first on M6 then on Canal+, Pierre Ménès worked alongside many former footballers who became consultants. And all these collaborations have not always been simple.
On his YouTube channel Pierrot le Foot, the former journalist looks back on his best affinities but also on his notable clashes on the air. Among his friendships, Christophe Dugarry occupies a special place. “The one I got on best with was Duga, because I was the one who proposed him to M6 for 100% Foot. He was the first guest of the first issue, with Bruno Solo »he says.
Ménès-Beye, the clash
The former journalist adds: “When we had the rights to the World Cup, I really campaigned for him to be the one to commentate on the matches. I always really liked Duga as a player, he is very intelligent”. He also evokes a beautiful relationship with Laure Boulleau: “And even if she disappeared from my life, I got along very well with Laure Boulleau too”.
But Pierre Ménès does not forget the more tense moments, like his clash with Habib Beye, current coach of Stade Rennais:
“I had a pretty severe clash one day with Habib, and another with Alain Roche because I had taken one of his thoughts very badly. But hey, two clashes in eleven years… I want to say ‘can do better’”he concludes with humor.
