The Alpine driver, Pierre Gasly, delivered a meaningful confession about Lewis Hamilton.
The 2025 F1 season is approaching its epilogue. And that is undoubtedly a relief for Lewis Hamilton. Having arrived this year at Ferrari with the ambition of returning to the top, the seven-time world champion is experiencing a particularly trying year, marked by retirements, poor performances and growing frustration. For the third time in a row, the Briton was eliminated in Q1 at the Qatar Grand Prix, after having already experienced the same fate in Las Vegas and then during qualifying for the sprint.
A few days earlier, after the last American GP, Hamilton had not hidden his immense bitterness. “It’s a terrible result. There is nothing positive to come from today. Nothing from this season. I can’t wait for this to end. I’m not looking forward to the next one.”he blurted out. To a surprised journalist, the pilot even clarified that he was not referring to the Qatar meeting alone, but to the entire season and even to 2026.
At 40, Hamilton is going through one of the most frustrating periods of his career. His SF-25 seems incapable of offering him the weapons necessary to play at the forefront. Where his teammate Charles Leclerc sometimes manages to limit the damage, or even grab a few podiums, the former Mercedes driver appears totally helpless in the face of a capricious and often unpredictable car.
Gasly confirms
After his qualification, which ended in a disappointing 17th place, Hamilton briefly exchanged with Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman did not hide his surprise at the Ferrari’s difficulties. Author of a solid ninth time, he told the media that the SF-25 appeared “definitely bad” on the track, evoking an “unstable” car, “unpredictable” And “very difficult to master”.
Gasly then detailed his point of view: according to him, Hamilton is struggling with deep-rooted problems in the car, problems “different and multiple” which totally compromise its rhythm. He added that the single-seater “didn’t really look like something fun to ride”. Words that resonate as a brutal confirmation for the Scuderia driver.
Subsequently interviewed by DAZN, Hamilton reported this exchange with a touch of biting irony: “Pierre said to me: ‘Your car looks ugly.’ And I said, “No kidding, Sherlock!” » A scathing reply which perfectly sums up his exasperation in the face of a Ferrari that he can no longer tame.
