In recent days on social networks, it’s up to whoever turns on their heating last. Temperatures are dropping, bills are rising. Everyone adapts in survival mode. Above all, don’t break down. You have to save. This is exactly what Nadia Guenoun, mother, is looking for. She spotted this app to help her with a challenge system. “Special challenge: set the heating to 17 degrees from 10 a.m. to noon”she reads. And off we go, she lowers the thermostat: “So we were at 19.5 before the challenge, I put it at 17”.

Now all that remains is to equip yourself. Slippers, a blanket, a hot water bottle and a good tea, she is ready to telework. A series of small challenges that reduce the bill. “If I look in euros, I see that the bill for the month of October 2025 is 23.49 euros. And for the month of November, I am at 15.79 euros. So we still see a saving thanks to the challenges”explains Nadia Guenoun, who uses the LibertéWatts application.

Others have also taken on this challenge. In total, almost 50,000 people have subscribed to the application. As they complete challenges, users accumulate points which can be transformed into vouchers or gifts. Its designer is Guillaume Faure. It is paid by the electricity network, which thus avoids overloads. “One morning, when I got up, I had the idea of finding volunteers, French volunteers who would be ready to reduce their energy consumption at times when the network is overloaded. I said to myself that we had to reward these people for their actions, for their solidarity with the electricity network”he explains.

And these tips, also good for the environment, are multiplying on the networks. Armed with her roll of toilet paper, Laureleï Arduin, influencer, suggests consuming less. She places it in front of a window. If the leaf moves, air is passing. There is definitely a leak. She then explains how to insulate the window: “With an insulating strip for 5 euros, you block the leak and you can save up to 150 kWh per winter”. Simple gestures, good from every point of view. “No anxiety, no guilt, just show that small gestures every day are easy to do, that they don’t bother anyone and that they’re just positive in fact for everyone,” underlines Laureleï Arduin. Minus one degree of heating means 7% less consumption. These eco-friendly actions allow you to save money while making an effort for the planet.
