Historical audiences at all levels



The 112nd edition of the Tour de France ended on July 27 in the Paris rain and a 21st stage where the applause of the Montmartre public made the runners vibrate. France Télévisions recorded historical audiences on this large 2025 loop.

The 21st stage had already produced historic scores. With a point at 8.7 million viewers in front of France 2, Sunday July 27, 2025, the Tour de France showed that it was not dead, on the contrary.

France Télévisions explained that the level of audience was the highest for the Tour for 20 years. This last step was also the best audience for a last step since 2011. But when it comes into detail, we realize how exceptional this 112nd edition was. Young and old, passionate about the yellow jersey and bicycle lovers, these three weeks of large loop marked the spirits.

45 million French people in front of the Tour

The craze around the Tour de France is not new. A must of summer in France, it brings together the French, but all nationalities around the major cycling event. The figures speak for themselves. On France Télévisions, 45 million French people watched the Tour, 4 million more than in 2024. Among 15-24 year olds, there were 4.7 million to be passionate about the attacks by Tadej Pogacar or the madness of the Ventoux won by Valentin Paretrere.

France 2 is not to be outdone. The afternoons of the Tour de France brought together 3.8 million viewers on average. On July 14, it was the 10th stage between Ennezat and Mont-Dore which was the most watched with 5.4 million (49.8 % audience shares) of viewers. On France 3, 2.2 million viewers were there.

On the networks, the turn is a hit

It is not only on our TV screens that the Tour de France worked. On the France.TV platform, 75 million videos were seen. It is quite simply the highest historic level on an edition of a large loop and it is also an increase of 120 % compared to 2024. On social networks of France Télévisions, 164 million videos were seen with also a historic record and a positive evolution of 160 % compared to 2024.

From TV through his smartphone, the turn marked us all. The Magazine Vélo Club has a hit since 2.3 million people have followed it, the best audience since 2019 and the best share of audiences of all time. And for the pleasure of enthusiasts, the Tour de France is not over since the women’s edition has started and will end this Sunday, August 3.
