In the city of Menton, a well -known seaside resort of the Littoral Maralpin, several private beaches were not allowed to reopen following a court decision. The general public appreciates, while customers fall back on private beaches still open.
Menton (Alpes-Maritimes) has four kilometers from the beach. This very popular seaside attracts a million visitors each year. But this summer, only three in seven private beaches were authorized to reopen by court decision. An Italian tourist is worried about transat places, which may be expensive in high season.
“It’s already very complicated to book for the month of August”she deplores. The number of mattresses should go from 700 to 300 mattresses, which is complicated to satisfy an easy clientele. “I think other beaches are missing, because I have to refuse on every weekend a lot of people”Notes Gabriele Viano, manager of the beach “La Dolce Vita”.
But that also makes people happy, like bathers and families of a beach returned to the public. Last year, the private beaches extended throughout the walk. But today, most of the beaches have become public. Justice decided at the request of the prefecture, because the allocation of concessions was not made for all in the rules.
