The 34 -year -old Italian skier is in an exceptional form this winter, and this Saturday, she won the giant slalom of Are, in Sweden, winning the two rounds! Federica Brignone won the first round with 34 hundredths ahead of his compatriot Sofia Goggia and 36 on the Norwegian Thea Louise Stjernesund. With 65 hundredths ahead of the Noé-Zélandaise before taking the start, Brignone could see coming, and without taking on reckless risks, she managed to also sign the best time in the second round, proof of her incredible domination of the day. The Italian skier wins the 18th giant of her career, with 1 ″ 36 ahead of Robinson (23 years old), who goes up on her seventh podium of the season, and 1 ″ 43 on the Albanian Lara Colturi (18), who rises on the third.
The little globe will be played in Sun Valley
This new victory allows Federica Brignone to return to 20 points from Alice Robinson in the classification of the Géant World Cup. The little globe will therefore be played in three weeks during the finals of Sun Valley, where 100 points will be at stake. A victory in Idaho will allow Brignone to lift the trophy, otherwise it will be necessary to take the calculation out. To general, the Italian is very close to winning a second big globe, with her 322 points ahead of Lara Gut-Behrami, 9th this Saturday. The French, on the other hand, are far from all these calculations. None of them managed to qualify for the second round, the best, Doriane Escané, finishing 41st.
