The heat wave that has settled on France is not over on Friday June 20. It highlights a paradox: the success of air conditioning, at the same time, accentuates global warming.
Installing a heat pump that allows you to air -condition a part is the choice of Vincent Weitz, owner. “I find that we have more and more hot weather and I have the impression that it will not go arranging. I told myself that it was not a bad idea to install this type of equipment”he shared. Cost of the installation: 4,500 euros for 35 m².
Joël Pais, air conditioner installer at Clim Denfert Paris, works six days a week to meet the demand. “Before, I was doing a lot of shops, tertiary. Today, we do a lot of individuals”, he assured. His boss installed air conditioners especially in the south of the country and in Corsica. But with increasing temperatures, its customers are also north of the Loire. Sales of air conditioning apparatus fly away: barely 14 % of individuals in 2016-2017 were equipped. They were 25 % in 2020.
