After two weeks of hunger strike, Issam Chebbi announced the suspension of his hunger strike and sent a message from his cell.
Considering that its action has, in part, achieved its objectives, in particular by drawing attention to “ serious injustices » to which political leaders, civil society actors, journalists and human rights defenders would be subject.
Issam Chebbi also claimed to perceive “ the beginnings of a promising societal upsurge », judging that the conditions were now met to suspend the strike.
He also called “ all Tunisians who love freedom, from the entire political spectrum », to participate massively in the march planned for Saturday November 22, 2025.
According to him, this mobilization must constitute “ the starting point of a movement of struggle which will only stop with the return of freedom to the country ».
