Patrice Bessone, national representative of a driving school network, president of Mobilians ESR, expresses Thursday July 31 on Franceinfo a lively disappointment after the government’s announcement Thursday morning concerning the opening of 80,000 additional places by the end of 2025 for the driving license exam. “We are super disappointed. It won’t change anything”he reacts, denouncing announcements: “We make people believe that there will be a plethora of places in emergency and that is not true.”
If the announcement constitutes “A first step”According to him, she remains a “Deceptive brand”. In reality, according to him, “It is a budget that allows you to allocate 80,000 additional examination places made by inspectors on the basis of volunteering”he explains. The lack of staff persists: “We have the same stalling of inspectors and we will simply ask them, if they wish, to do additional exams.”
To accompany the opening of these new examination places, Minister François-Noël Buffet said that “108 inspectors” are “Recruiting”. I am Patrice Bessone Pécis: “The 100 inspectors are what Minister Darmanin had set up in 2022. We are finishing this cohort with the last 40 inspectors in 2025“For him, the needs are much more important: “It takes three per department, so you need 300 more. We have 100 departments, you need 300 more. It’s a budget.”
The Minister proposes to increase the success rate for the examination, currently located around 60 %. Patrice Bessone also displays his reserves: “If you give it to almost everyone, you will have to be careful before you go out on the road.” He recalls a worrying fact: “In 2024, there were more young people who killed themselves on the road than in 2023.”
