Julia Simon “severely” sanctioned, thunderclap to the FFS



After the courts, the French Ski Federation in turn sanctioned Julia Simon following her confession in the bank card fraud case.

Julia Simon is determined on her fate. And the biathlete from Les Saisies can be relieved: despite her confession and the court’s conviction, she will indeed be able to participate in the Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina next February.

Sentenced on October 24 to three months in prison and a fine of 15,000 euros in the bank card fraud case by the Albertville criminal court, Julia Simon was at risk before the disciplinary committee of the French Ski Federation. The latter could in fact pronounce her dismissal or at least a long suspension which would have prevented her from competing in the next Winter Games.

Because to her misdeeds at the expense of Justine Braisaz-Bouchet and a member of the staff were added her repeated lies for almost three years, the multiple world champion having never stopped proclaiming her innocence until her confession in court. However, the FFS decided to be lenient.

Julia Simon will only miss one World Cup stage

Because if the Federation claims to have sanctioned
“severely” Julia Simon, the latter finally received a “temporary ban of 6 months from participating in competitions and training organized or authorized by the FFS and the IBU, including 5 months suspended » and a “fine of 30,000 euros including 15,000 euros suspended”.

In the end, Julia Simon will only miss the first stage of the World Cup in Ostersund (November 29-December 7). She will indeed be able to make her return from the second stage in Hochfilzen (December 12-14) and above all take part in the Olympic Games (February 8-22), the big meeting of the season.
