Laegreid dethrones Johannes Boe!

This Saturday, at home, Sturla Laegreid made a double blow by dominating the pursuit of Oslo in front of Johannes Boe, which allows him to glean the big crystal globe at the same time. Quentin Fillon Maillet was snatched to finish in 3rd place.

The student therefore exceeded the master … and at the same time has a little spoiled the party. Indeed, while Johannes Boe is preparing to retire, after a last race this Sunday, the new boss of Biathlon is now called Sturla Laegreid. This Saturday, during the continuation of Oslo, the leader of the general classification managed to catch up with his compatriot and rival thanks to a flawless fir, when the future retiree failed before an audience acquired in his cause, with three faults.

Almost as a symbol, Boe let the victory go by committing a last fault during the last shot, while the yellow boss, as a boss, was irresistible in the exercise. Before the last race of the season, a Mass Start, Laegreid therefore has 104 points ahead of Boe and can therefore no longer be taken up by the latter (a victory reports 90 points). At 28, the native of Bærum won his first big crystal globe. A consecration and a certain form of transfer between the two Norwegians.

Fillon Maillet did not fall for Giacomel

Behind them, Quentin Fillon Maillet had to work to take place on the podium this Saturday. In the fight at the end of the race with Tommaso Giacomel, the Frenchman resisted the Italian and ended up having the last word in the final sprint. Upon arrival, “QFM” has ahead of nothing the individual silver medalist at the last Worlds in Lenzerheide (Switzerland).

“It was a hell of a fight with him (Giacomel). I can thank him because we really did a big job both. We did the whole race together, we helped ourselves and that allowed us to catch up with a lot of time on the skis, “has the French, at the microphone of the L’Equipe chain. For the rest, the other Blues did not shine in Oslo during the pursuit. Because apart from Fillon Maillet, you have to get out of the top 10 to find others. Despite five shooting faults, Eric Perrot took the 15th, while Emilien Claude (three faults) finished 18th. Much further, we find Antonin Guigonnat (37th), Oscar Lombardot (41st) and finally Fabien Claude (55th).
