The Pin’s research test started for collectors. How did this object become cult?

They may seem old -fashioned. However, the deluge of symbols and colors of the 1990s is still present. At each Olympiad, the Pin’s achieve a new breakthrough, sometimes even as close as possible to the athletes. This summer, Caroline Lopez, member of the French Archery team, will take them with her during the Paris Games. “”I think that is one of the things for which I am noticed“, She admits.

Pin’s and games have a long common story. First identification badge, the pin’s then becomes advertising and collection object. If in 2024, some surprising creations dusted this object that has become cult, the story began in 1886. Pierre de Coubertin gave a second life to the Olympic Games: to be identified, the participants must then display wooden badges, a dictinctive sign which will continue until the 1970s.

350 new models will integrate the Pin’s collections in Paris 2024.
