After eleven years spent in Paris, Marco Verratti was pushed towards the exit by Luis Enrique, who did not count on him, during the summer of 2023. Then left to exile in Qatar, where he signed up with the Al-Duhail club, the 32-year-old Italian midfielder arrives at the end of the contract on June 30.
Authorized to sign in favor of the training of his choice since 1East January, Marco Verratti would be in the viewfinder of another Qatari team. Eager to become a major club in the Middle East, the al-Duhail would have made the old Parisian their high priority of the next summer transfer window, according to Market Football.
Verratti-Galtier, soon the reunion?
On the side of Al-Duhail, the “small owl” would find his ex-entity at PSG, Christophe Galtier. But also other names known like the Moroccan Hakim Ziyech or the French Benjamin Bourigeaud.
It remains to be seen what the main interested party thinks, now 32 years old, whose name also circulates in great Europe. Not so long ago, the Italian was associated with FC Barcelona and Inter Milan.
However, for European clubs, the task promises to be complicated financially. Indeed, Verratti receives in Qatar an annual net salary of 30 million euros per year.
