It is an initiative that aims to highlight employees or public service agents whose actions promote inclusion at the work of LGBT+ workers: lesbians, gays, bisex, transgender, non -binary and all those who do not recognize themselves as heterosexual.
Since the first edition in 2019, 588 people have already been distinguishedEither as a LGBT+model role, or as an ally that supports this cause. Part of them are leaders or members of a management body. Distinguished people do not apply itself, but must be nominated by a third party. The files are then examined by a jury. This year, the deadline to offer people is May 31.
To be appointed, it is for example a question of creating, participating or contributing to develop an LGBT+ network in her company, according to Catherine Tripon, spokesperson for the other circle. It can also be a strong testimony, or a particular initiative on the occasion of International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, on May 17.
A leader who signs the engagement charter for LGBT+inclusion, or who gives additional days off to gender transition, can thus be nominated. “It is the courage to make yourself visible, when you are homosexual, bi or trans” explains Catherine Tripon, In order to show young generations that it is possible to succeed professionally without having to hide or invent another life. “
All indicators progress favorably according to the last barometer of the other circle. But there is still work: 3 LGBT+ employees+ out of 10 declare that they had at least been victims of an assault at work. One in two has already heard LGTBPHOBES expressions and one in four has the feeling of having been discriminated against by its management.
Those who work in an organization signatory to the other circle charter undergo fewer threats or assaults. The young generation, recalls Catherine Tripon, is very attentive to the commitments of employers on environmental and societal subjects.
