Traveling to Olympiakos, Monaco gleaned their fourth victory of the season in the Euroleague (87-92) thanks in particular to the remarkable performances of Alpha Diallo and Mike James.
A trip to Olympiakos is never just a walk in the park. Monaco’s trip to Piraeus this Wednesday as part of the 7th chapter of the Euroleague confirmed this. Top scorer of the match, Alpha Diallo compiled 27 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. In a different style, Mike James did not shine any less, producing a nice double-double (24 points, 10 assists). Two solid performances on which Vassilis Spanoulis’ men relied to win 87-92 on hostile terrain.
Fournier and Ntilikina very discreet
The 23 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists from Greek Tyler Dorsey were not enough for Olympiakos. Much more discreet, the French from the Greek team did not weigh on the meeting at all. Evan Fournier only validated two points in 22 minutes on the floor. Used only ten minutes, Frank Ntilikina also scored only two points.
Benefiting from this success, Monaco has a positive record in the Euroleague (4 wins, 3 losses) and at the same time moves back to 7th place, two places behind its victim of the day whose record is similar. In two days, the French vice-champion will host another Greek club, Panathinaikos, at Gaston-Médecin for the 8th round.
