Nkunku finally frees himself!

Thanks to a double from Christopher Nkunku, his first two goals with the Rossoneri, AC Milan provisionally took the lead in Serie A.

Christopher Nkunku had not yet had the opportunity to propose an original celebration with AC Milan. And for good reason, the French international, who arrived from Chelsea at the start of the season, had not yet scored a goal in Serie A with his new club. The former Parisian had the pleasure of being able to blow balloons twice to celebrate his goals on Sunday during the Rossoneri’s clear victory against Hellas Verona (3-0) during the 17th day of Serie A.

Christian Pulisic, AC Milan’s most decisive player again this season, opened the scoring for the locals just before the break (1-0, 45th+1) with a flat foot on the bar after a corner. Encouraged by Pulisic and Modric, who could have used their experience to seize the ball, Christopher Nkunku made the break by converting a penalty after returning from the locker room (2-0, 48th). The same Nkunku then followed a shot from Luka Modric repelled by Montipo, the Verona goalkeeper, to score a double (3-0, 53rd).

Thanks to this fourth success in five matches, AC Milan, undefeated in Serie A since the end of August and a defeat at home against Cremonese, temporarily takes the lead in the championship. Massimiliano Allegri’s players have two points more than Inter Milan, who will face Atalanta later today.
