NVIDIA, world stock market champion

The American champion of artificial intelligence, the NVIDIA group, becomes the largest world market capitalization in front of Apple and Microsoft.

On the American technological values ​​index (the S & P500), the NVIDIA action gave itself, Thursday, July 3, from more than 2% to 160 dollars to reach a global valuation of $ 3,915 billion, the equivalent of 3,330 billion euros. If you dare a comparison, that is no more or less than the amount of France’s public debt. Apple on the stock market is now $ 3,190 billion, Microsoft is estimated at 3,700 billion. With a few hundred billions more, Nvidia succeeds in her gigantism bet. By reaching nearly $ 4,000 billion, this is an unprecedented threshold on the world’s stock markets.

Created in 1993 in California, the company is today a multinational, the essentials of which are to edit software, graphic processors and to manufacture semiconductors, that is to say computer flea. These are sectors and key, strategic activities, at the time of the development of artificial intelligence. NVIDIA products and services have become essential in the midst of a generative AI takeoff. The brand has, in particular, to anticipate the major needs of data centers and technological companies.

In the minds of certain analysts, this level of dependence of companies with Nvidia products causes a risk in terms of security and resistance of supply chains. Some companies have also started to diversify their supplies of semiconductors, as a precaution, in case the slightest incident occurs at the American giant.

American regulatory bodies are particularly vigilant, because monopolies are prohibited and dominant positions are a source of price increase since there is no more competition.

A French company did not wait to take a strategic agreement with the NVIDIA group. The young tricolor shoot, Mistral AI, will build with the American group a joint dematerialized IT platform (the cloud, the computer cloud). The agreement was recently signed in Paris during the last edition of the Viva Tech show.
