This is the 46th victory since the start of the immense career of the reigning Olympic champion in this same discipline.
In second place of the day, we find, as after the first round, the Austrian Marco Schwarz, who falls 0”24 from victory and may harbor some regrets, to the extent that he was only 0”01 behind the Swiss after the first round. For his part, the Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath took third place, 0”27 behind Odermatt.
Two French people finish in the top 10
The first Frenchman Thibaut Favrot, only fourteenth after the first round, took the final fifth place, at 0”63, after a huge second round, concluded with the second best time of the entrants. Another Tricolore ranks in the top 10. It is Flavio Vitale, who finishes in tenth place and signs the best result of his career in the Alpine Ski World Cup.
For his part, Alexis Pinturault, the best Frenchman in the first round, after setting the thirteenth time, finished further back, in 18th position. For his part, Alban Elezi Cannaferina takes 25th place. This second round should have started at 1:00 p.m. this Sunday afternoon, before finally being postponed to 1:30 p.m. then 2:00 p.m., due to bad weather conditions.
