Paris stronger than the Swiss, lightening in the top 10

The Italian Dominik Paris won the descent of Kvitfjell, Norway, in front of four Swiss including Marco Odermatt. First French, Nils Allègre took 10th place.

Better late than never! While the Alpine Ski World Cup season will end in three weeks in the Sun Valley finals, Dominik Paris won his first success for the 2024-25 financial year. The almost 36 -year -old Italian, who won at least one victory in the last twelve of the last seasons, added a 23rd to his record, winning this Friday during the descent of Kvitfjell, Norway. Starting with bib 10, under the sun and -1 ° C, the Italian skier dethroned the one who had gone just before him and who had signed the best time, Marco Odermatt.

Paris defeated the king of world skiing, who had however signed an excellent race, of 32 hundredths, and no one managed to do better afterwards. The Italian reigned on this descent and won his first victory since December 2023 in Val Gardena. It is also his fifth success on the Norwegian track, which he decidedly appreciated a lot.

A seventh top 10 for allegre

Paris ends in front of four Swiss! Marco Odermatt has indeed retained his second place, ahead of Stefan Rogentin, Franjo Van Allmen and Alexis Monny. The first Frenchman, Nils allegre, takes the eighth place, just over a second in Paris and signs his seventh top 10 of the season. Not bad for a French speed team that lives a fairly nightmarish season. Maxence Muzaton finished 13th and Adrien Théaux 17th.

Following this race, Marco Odermatt retains the head of the classification of the descent World Cup, with 103 points ahead of Franjo Van Allmen, while there are two left to compete. He could therefore ensure the small globe on Saturday, during the second descent of Kvitfjell. To general, Odermatt has 440 points ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen. The big globe is also getting closer …
