With great emotion, Paul Pogba received the trophy for “comeback” of the year at the Globe Soccer Awards. The Frenchman hopes for even better things to come.
Ousmane Dembélé, Aitana Bonmati, Cristiano Ronaldo, Désiré Doué, Lamine Yamal… The list of players honored on Sunday at the Globe Soccer Awards is quite long. And surprisingly enough, it also includes Paul Pogba.
The French midfielder received the “Comeback of the Year” trophy, which had only been awarded once (to the Como club in 2024), and which seems to have been created only for the 2018 world champion.
The organizers undoubtedly wanted to salute the career of the man who was deprived of the field for more than two years, due to physical problems and especially this positive test for testosterone which earned him a long suspension.
For Pogba, “the best is yet to come”
While there were fears of an end to his career, Paul Pogba managed to return to the field. What does it matter, obviously, if he has only had time to play three ends of a match in Ligue 1 since his “comeback”.
Very moved when receiving his trophy, the Monaco player published a message on social networks this Monday. “This trophy is not just mine. It belongs to everyone who believed in me when everything was going wrong. Thank you for never giving up. The best is yet to come, and I’m ready for what’s next.”he promised.
