While Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will leave next summer in search of a second victory in the Tour de France, one of her great rivals announces the color.
Pauline Ferrand-Prévot probably didn’t imagine anything else, but the threat is confirmed. Victorious in the Tour de France this summer, the Frenchwoman will not escape competition from Demi Vollering next year on the Grande Boucle.
During the presentation evening of her FDJ-Suez training, the Dutchwoman was invited to say a few words in French. “ I want to win the Tour de France with the team,” announced the recent European champion, in the language of Molière.
For several years, Demi Vollering has been the benchmark for stage races. Outstripped by Annemiek van Vleuten in 2022, the Dutchwoman won her only Tour de France in 2023 before being beaten the following two years by Kasia Niewiadoma, and therefore by Pauline Ferrand-Prévot.
Very ambitious Vollering
For its second year under the colors of FDJ-Suez, Vollering hopes to triumph again on French roads in July.
“ Next year will be a great challenge again, with new riders in the team; we are really ready”added the Dutchwoman,
