The Franco-Italian-American group announced Thursday the extension of the warranty on these engines, up to 10 years or 240,000 kilometers.

New massive recall of vehicles at Stellantis. The automotive giant has launched a reminder of nearly a million Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, Opel or DS cars, equipped with the 1.5 BlueHDI diesel engine, for breakage problems, announced a spokesperson for the group on Thursday 3 July. Products between 2017 and 2023, these models encounter problems related to camshaft chain, an essential element of the engine which regulates the opening and closing of intake and exhaust valves. 930,700 vehicles will be gradually recalled in France, and others in European countries where these same vehicles have been sold.
The small 1.5 BlueHDI engine (called “DV5”) team of dozens of large broadcast models including the Citroën C3, C4, the Opel Corsa, Mokka, and the Peugeot 208, 2008, 308. The discontent rose among the owners of these vehicles. Cigarette snacks or noises in the engine have been able to transform into valve breakage or, worse, engine breakage. The owners concerned will be contacted by the manufacturer.
Stellantis in parallel has extended the warranty over these engines up to 10 years or 240,000 kilometers, said the group in a press release. Customers who have already encountered camshaft chain problems will be able to request reimbursement of related expenses, “Provided that the maintenance and diagnosis carried out of the vehicle comply with the guidelines recommended by the brand”specifies the group.
