The Minister of Labor Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet will present to the social partners within one to two weeks a plan to fight against fatal accidents at work. According to information from France CultureTuesday, July 8, the ministry released several guidelines in particular aimed at empowerment of employers and the protection of the most vulnerable public. This plan is being finalized, especially on budgetary issues.
The Government thus wants to strengthen the empowerment of employers and principals based on what has been implemented in terms of prevention on the construction sites of the Bet 2024 Olympic Games. The Ministry of Labor also intends to act on construction calls for construction sites with a public and private order promoting the safest companies, but not necessarily the cheapest. For the government, prevention has a cost and must not disadvantage companies concerned with protecting their employees.
The Executive still wishes to offer greater protection of audiences deemed vulnerable: young people, temporary workers and construction employees. This involves, for example, through the strengthening of training, which must also become compulsory for everyone.
The Ministry of Labor also envisages a component focused on the labor inspectorate. If retirements have been replaced, the workforce will not be increased. However, the Minister wishes to give labor inspectors the legal capacity to stop a site in the event of serious and imminent danger risks linked to heat. It also pleads for the improvement of the collaboration between the prosecution and the labor inspectorate in order to make effective a real criminal policy.
Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet finally hopes to strengthen the support of victims and their loved ones. For the moment, apart from associations, families have no specific device.
