A few hours before the clash against PSG in the Champions League, Bayern Munich strongly denounced the conditions imposed on its supporters.
D-Day! This Tuesday at 9 p.m., PSG hosts Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes for the clash of the 4th day of the Champions League. Undefeated until then, the two clubs remain on three victories in three matches and are preparing to face each other in a high-tension match, both on and off the field.
Indeed, the day before the match, Bayern Munich strongly protested against the travel conditions imposed on its supporters by the French authorities, describing the system as “unacceptable notice”. According to the club, the prefectural decree required buses of Bavarian fans to gather at a toll booth outside Paris before the match, while other fans had to travel to the stadium only via public transport.
After officially contesting this decision, Bayern published a second press release, this time denouncing the treatment reserved for its supporters.. “The fifteen buses carrying supporters of the reigning champions had to regroup at a toll booth on the A4 motorway, on the outskirts of Paris, and were only allowed to leave at 5 p.m., under police escort”describes the club. “Even buses that had already arrived in Paris were forced to turn back. The facilities on site are deplorable: only one toilet, no possibility of eating or drinking. »
PSG and UEFA questioned
The press release also specifies that this organization “will result in a very late start, between six and seven hours after the end of the match”forcing supporters to wait in the stadium parking lot. “In addition to these unacceptable conditions, many fans will not be able to go to work the next day”continues the club.
Estimating this “scandalous procedure” be a “new affront” for its supporters, Bayern Munich has filed an official complaint with UEFA. The club concludes by affirming that this matter will not go unanswered and specifies that PSG as well as the European body “support the club in this approach”.
