New products as the end-of-year holidays approach. As at the start of every month, the arrival of December 1st is accompanied by the implementation of new measures, but also by the evolution of certain invoices and payments.

After the changes on November 1, such as the modification of off-peak hours or the start of the winter break, developments are expected from Monday, in particular on care for wheelchairs or assistance with childcare. Franceinfo summarizes these different changes coming this month.

A Christmas bonus paid for beneficiaries of certain social minimums

Who says end-of-year holidays means Christmas bonus for beneficiaries of the following social minimums: active solidarity income (RSA), specific solidarity allowance (ASS) and retirement equivalent allowance (AER). The people concerned will be able to receive this financial assistance from December 16, recalls the government. There is no particular step to take to receive it: it is paid automatically. For beneficiaries of the aid in question from the month of December, the Christmas bonus will be paid the following month, specifies the family allowance fund website (CAF).

This bonus varies according to the social minimum and the family situation of the beneficiaries. For example, a single person without children benefiting from RSA will receive 152.45 euros, while a single person with a child will receive 228.68 euros. A couple receiving RSA with three children will receive 381.13 euros.

Wheelchairs fully reimbursed by Social Security

The reform was particularly awaited for people with disabilities in France. From Monday, full coverage for wheelchairs will come into effect. No less than 150,000 people purchase a wheelchair each year, not counting around 400,000 users who temporarily need a wheelchair, specifies the Ministry of Health.

Before this reform, wheelchairs were only partially covered by Health Insurance, sometimes resulting in “a significant remaining liability”, recognizes the ministry. “In certain cases, users or associations even launch online prize pools to finance the equipment”he recalls. From Monday, people needing a wheelchair will no longer have to pay any additional charges, provided that this wheelchair complies “the quality and standards requirements defined in the framework in force after advice from the High Authority of Health (HAS)”.

There are no advance fees to be expected for these purchases. The objective of the reform is also to “simplify care procedures”, with a one-stop shop, develops the ministry. The reform includes any model of vehicle for people with disabilities, “as long as there is a valid prescription, established by a trained health professional, which identifies and validates a need for compensation for the disability”.

The price of gas falls very slightly

Good news for homes heating with gas as winter approaches, as temperatures drop. According to the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), the benchmark gas sales price per average kilowatt hour is 0.10282 euros for heating, compared to 0.10345 euros/kWh in November.

Parents of children in joint custody each benefit from assistance

From Monday, separated parents with children in alternate custody will each be able to benefit from the free choice of childcare supplement (CMG), assistance to finance childcare. “Only alternating residence allows the CMG to be collected for each parent; the simple right of visitation or accommodation is not enough”, precise the family allowance fund website.

For each parent to benefit from this assistance, the Family Allowance Fund must be informed of the alternating residence situation. The parent who already benefited from the CMG has nothing else to do, but the second parent who wishes to receive it must submit a request to their CAF. To benefit from the CMG, “the child must be looked after by an approved childminder or home daycare, with a separate contract for the periods spent with each parent”specifies the CAF website.

The Parcoursup platform soon to open

From December 17, future students will be able to have access to the platform Parcoursup in order to search for training courses that will be available at the start of the next academic year. They will thus be able to start thinking about their wishes, before formulating them between January 19 and March 12.

On the site, high school students will have access to various information on the training presented: the important criteria in the examination of their files, the cost of the training in question, as well as data on the profiles of candidates accepted in recent years. From December 17, information regarding professional integration after these training courses will also be available.

Several tax deadlines are coming

Please note, you only have a few days left to correct your tax return in the event of an error: the deadline is December 3 this year, i.e. Wednesday, remember the government. Do you need to adjust your withholding tax for next year? Better to do it before December 6 so that it is taken into account from January, reports HERE. For people with a second home, you will also have to pay housing tax before December 15.
