The recall of 800,000 additional vehicles equipped with Takata airbags was announced Tuesday, June 24 by the government. Some garage owners are already overwhelmed a few days before vacation departures.

In a garage, nine days from school holidays, repairs are linked. To the usual revisions are added the new Takata airbag reminders. In total, 800,000 new vehicles have been immobilized since Tuesday, June 24 everywhere in France. 1.7 million vehicles no longer have the right to circulate in the country after the last reminder of the Ministry of Transport.

The immobilization procedure concerns, in detail, all cars with risk airbags in Corsica and overseas territories (DROM) and those manufactured before 2011 in mainland France. The majority of manufacturers are impacted. A procedure that all motorists have not yet been informed. So how do you know if the restriction also applies to your car? You must go directly to your manufacturer’s site, you must indicate the chassis number registered on your gray card.
