Sadok Mourali announces new measures against violence in stadiums

A few days before the capital derby, scheduled for Sunday, November 9 at the Hamadi Agrebi Olympic stadium in Radès, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sadok Mourali, chaired a working meeting this Tuesday, November 4, 2025, devoted to the fight against violence in stadiums and the security of sporting events.

The session, which was held at the ministry’s headquarters, brought together representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Tunisian Football Federation, the National Professional Football League, as well as several senior executives from the department and the National Sports Complex.

At the end of the meeting, several concrete decisions were taken. The ministry announced the upgrade of the control room at the Radès stadium, which will be fully operational from the return phase of the championship. A consultation meeting will also be held next week between the Ministry of the Interior, the Federation and the Professional League in order to review and strengthen the scale of sanctions applied in the event of violence or excesses in stadiums.

Furthermore, a unified procedural guide will be developed to clarify the responsibilities of each party and harmonize interventions during matches. The ministry has also decided to create the function of general coordinator in the stadiums, which will be entrusted to graduates of higher institutes of physical education and sport, currently unemployed. These coordinators will be responsible for ensuring monitoring and coordination on the ground during the competitions.

In his speech, Minister Sadok Mourali insisted on the need to implement firm and dissuasive measures in order to stop the spiral of violence in sports venues. He called for strict enforcement of laws and sanctions, “ without distinction or complacency », while emphasizing the importance of prevention and coordination work between all parties concerned.

“The protection of stadiums and the preservation of sporting and national security constitute a civic duty and a responsibility shared between all stakeholders,” affirmed the minister, calling for combined efforts to guarantee a safe and exemplary sporting climate.
