One objective: to try to break the budgetary impasse. The Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, continues consultations with political parties, Monday December 22, before a council of ministers expected Monday evening for the emergency presentation of a special law. This must provisionally finance the State and administrations despite the absence of a budget, before the resumption of parliamentary discussions in January. • A vote expected Tuesday. Monday evening and Tuesday,The Finance Committees of the National Assembly and the Senate will hear the Minister of the Economy, Roland Lescure, and the Minister of Public Accounts, Amélie de Montchalin, on this bill. The objective is that this text can be voted on Tuesday by both chambers.
• The objective of adopting the finance bill before “the end of January”. Amélie of Montchalin wants a real 2026 finance law to be adopted before “the end of January”, including with “some tax increases”one of the demands in particular from the Socialist Party.

• An impossible compromise within the joint committee. After the failure of a committee of senators and deputies to find an agreement on the finance bill on Friday, the Prime Minister was at work on Sunday, beginning a new series of consultations with political parties “to find the conditions for a solution”.
