Clarisse Brèche seriously injured her knee during training. Barely out of a long convalescence, the French team skier will once again have to stay away from the slopes for many months, and therefore draw a line under the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.
It definitely makes one wonder if fate is not befalling Clarisse Brèche. Victim of a serious injury to her right knee in February in Saalbach in Austria, the Savoyard contracted an equally serious injury to her left knee, the French Ski Federation informed us early this afternoon in a press release.
“Clarisse Brèche fell during giant training on the Val Senales glacier (ITA). Medical examinations revealed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the left knee as well as an injury to the external meniscus,” we read.
A return in fall 2026?
Coming out of a blank season, Clarisse Brèche is experiencing a new twist of fate because she will be kept away from the slopes for many months. A tragic observation depriving her of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games being held from February 6 to 22.
According to several corroborating sources, the skier from the French team will have surgery in Lyon and her return to competition is scheduled at least for the fall of 2026. Aged 24, Clarisse Brèche has so far only won places of honor, the best result of which remains a 12th place in the Levi slalom in Finland last year.
