Should we wait seven days before being compensated by health insurance? A way for social security to save on work stoppages that do not carry out certain employees at all.
Until now, an employee of the private sector has been paid by health insurance from the fourth day of his judgment. With this measure, it would only be from the seventh. One of the avenues mentioned by the government which seeks to save 5.5 billion euros in the health sector.
A risky option, according to doctors who fear that employees make the choice of not stopping. With the risk of having much more serious pathologies.
Another possibility is envisaged: that employers take care of the four additional deficiency days themselves. Out of the question for some traders, this track would suffocate their small business.
To save more, the government could also review the rules of long -term conditions, so far covered 100 % by health insurance.
